Westbury Road for Cortizo

Got a commission from Cortizo (Spain), one of the leading manufacturer and distributor of aluminum and PVC systems for the architecture and industry sectors, they asked some photos of a nice property in New Malden, where they supplied the all the windows. Loved the project. The weather wasn’t that good, but enough to get some nice images out of it.

I had the opportunity to shoot the Battersea Studios yesterday for Edward Charles & Partners. What a lovely interior! Definitely a very interesting place to work and set a company office.

INSPIRATION FOR MY NEXT PERSONAL PROJECT - ART DECO

,

I was looking for some particular architectural style to photograph, some inspiration for my next personal project. Well, I just found it. Whilst visiting Miami for the first time, I discovered the incredible Art Deco Historic District in South Beach, the whole neighbourhood is just about Art Deco, I have to admit, it is stunning! So, I quickly ran and grabbed my camera, no tripod, just hand held and crazily captured as much as could along Ocean Drive, I had to be quick as my wife and daughter were waiting for me by the beach. That was enough to spark the idea for my next personal project: to capture the most interesting Art Deco buildings back home, in UK, specially in London, where we probably have plenty. Now, time to do some home work, researches, to deeply study about Art Deco before the summer arrives. It will be fun!

If you possess these qualities, submitting stock photos presents an opportunity to earn some extra cash for images that might otherwise be gathering digital dust. Alexandre Rotenberg is a travel photographer and has been submitting travel stock photos to various agencies since 2012. Oak Tree House by Graham Stirk and Susan Le Good

I couldn't be happier with the results of the photography I've produced for the architects Graham Stirk and Susan Le Good of their home in a lovely village in Suffolk. The project is simply beautiful, modern and minimalist, with a spacious open plan featuring exposed timber frames.

The geometry of the project is astonishing, therefore to make the most of it, I've spent an entire day shooting inside out, from the air and ground. Please check here the best features of this incredible project.

Royal Institute of British Architects (Riba) Stirling Prize have been announced!

The contenders for the Royal Institute of British Architects (Riba) Stirling Prize have been announced. The shortlist illustrates the best in design and architectural practice in the past year.

I'm happy to see that British Museum World Conservation and Exhibitions Centre by Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners has been named. It was a delightful project to photograph, the whole building is stunning, really deserves the nomination.

German Warehouse

Couple of weeks ago I was comissioned to photograph a massive warehouse in Germany for one of the biggest property investor in UK. The weather turned down at the last minute and instead a blue sky, I had to face a grey one, having to shoot between short breaks without rain. This was one of the situations where I really had to get blood from a stone. I didn't have the luxury of staying for another day hopping to get a better weather, so, my solution was to enjoy the nearly monocromatic landscape and start exploring the curves and lines of the warehouse structure. The challenge was good and the results were even better. 

PX3 2016 - Honorable Mention

Surprise surprise! I received a Honorable Mention by the French photo awards PX3 for my project, Vietnam - a country of workers!

I submitted 5 images, which is part of a 105 pages book (which I'm looking for a publisher to get it produced in series) containing a series of black and white photographs about the bustling streets of Hanoy and Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

qR Architects - Bourne Avenue

I'm very pleased with the opportunity to photograph this beautiful house in Bourne Avenue, London. qR Architects (http://www.qrarchitects.co.uk/projects---11-bourne-avenue) designed this magnific three storey house following the demolition of the existing one. The results you can see through my photographs below. Absolutely stunning project.

Westbury Road - Residential Project

When QR Architects (qrarchitects.co.uk) and WL Contractors (wlcontractors.co.uk) come together to renovate a house, the results are always breath taking. Clean, white and modern spaces, which I'm always delighted to photograph.  Thank you guys for anothet great opportunity. Westbury Road, London.

Tate Modern Extension - The New Building

Two months ago the Tate Modern opened the new building, "a ten-storeys on top of The Tanks – the world’s first gallery spaces dedicated to live art, film and installations – its height responding to the chimney of the existing Tate Modern building which was originally designed as a power station by Giles Gilbert Scott in the 1950s. Its twisting, pyramid-like shape will be a memorable addition to London’s skyline and will offer 60% extra space for visitors to explore.

From The Tanks on Level 0 you can go all the way up to Level 10 and enjoy the spectacular new roof terrace with 360-degree views of the river Thames, St Paul’s Cathedral and the dramatic London skyline.

Like the original Tate Modern, the new building is designed by architects Herzog & de Meuron and will present a striking combination of raw industrial spaces and refined 21st century architecture.

The façade uses brick to match the surface of the existing museum, while creating something radically new – a perforated brick lattice through which the interior lights glow in the evening. The interior of the new building features raw concrete folded into dramatic angles and will be a stunning new building in which to experience art." Yesterday I finally got access to a very unique point of view where I could capture images of this new building from a perspective never seem by most of the public, from high up. I woud like to share with you those images, which are just below. 

Hands on the just launched Canon 5D Mark IV

I was delighted today to be invited by Canon UK for a private view of the new Canon 5D Mark IV. Camera will come with great new features, as touch screen display, capacity of capturing up to 21 RAW images or unlimited JPEGs in a single burst and a new technology which enables the creation of Dual Pixel RAW, by the samples that I saw there, it will be a great advantage, but what I am really looking after is to test the dynamic range of it, the capacity to rescue all the details from the dark areas, they said it is something unbelievable. I can't wait to test it, hopefully soon!
