Drone Photography - It changes everything.

It is amazing how some aerial photographs can literally change the way how you can show a property, the land, the plot, the location, the position, everything becomes visually much easier to understand, specially for the buyer/investor. A lot of people still don’t see the potential of this kind of photos, which has become way more affordable with the evolution of the drones. In the past, for any kind of aerial photography it was necessary to rent an helicopter, which cost quite a lot of money, making the shoot too costly for most of the projects budget, now, using a drone (if the location air space suits), the cost for a decent session of aerial photographs had dropped considerably. This property below. which I shoot couple of months ago is a very good example of how amazing some aerial photographs made with a professional drone can be.

Hello everyone!

I hope you've noticed the new menu tab on my website, "Stock Imagery." It's a shortcut to something exciting that I'm about to announce!

Introducing the London Stock Photos website, an image bank dedicated to Greater London. This has been a long-term project that I've been planning and working on for quite a while, and I'm thrilled to say that it's now up and running. What you'll find on the website is the culmination of 15 years of hard work, capturing the streets and landscapes of London, and documenting every detail I encountered along the way.

To make it convenient for photo buyers, I've organized the entire stock by London postcodes. You can easily narrow down your search using keywords such as "SW1 + Restaurant" or "NW1 + (street name)." Additionally, I plan to add new postcodes or expand existing ones with more images on a weekly basis.

All images are licensed for editorial usage as standard. However, upon request, some images that don't require model or property releases can be licensed for commercial usage.

I've used the best cameras available at the time to produce these images, and each one has been carefully processed and curated to offer the highest image quality possible. All images are royalty-free, and you can purchase and download them in just a few clicks. Oh, and they can also be ordered as prints!

The Civic Trust Awards selects Centre Building as a 2021 Regional Finalist

Hello everyone!

I'm thrilled to share the exciting news that the Centre Building at the London School of Economics (LSE), designed by Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners (RSHP), has been selected as a 2021 Regional Finalist for the prestigious Civic Trust Awards. Congratulations to the entire team, especially Lorna Edwards, for their outstanding work on this project.

The Centre Building stands as one of the most captivating projects I have had the privilege of photographing. The building's accolades include the 2020 BREEAM Award for Public Sector Project - Post Construction, Winner of Client of the Year at the Education Estates Awards, Winner of the Social Infrastructure Project of the Year at the British Construction Industry Awards (BCIA), and more. Its recognition as a finalist in the Guardian University Awards and Planning Awards further highlights its architectural excellence.

The design of the Centre Building is inspired by LSE's core values of Collaboration, Excellence, and Innovation. RSHP's vision goes beyond creating world-class architecture; it incorporates a public square at the heart of the campus, fostering connectivity and wayfinding throughout the site. The building offers flexible floor plans, providing a mix of academic and departmental spaces that encourage innovation and inspiration. The lower levels feature public facilities such as a restaurant, auditorium, and lecture theatres, creating a seamless interaction with the vibrant Houghton Street and the newly created LSE Square.

Ascending from the first and second floors, you'll find teaching spaces and access to a spacious external terraced garden. The atrium serves as a dynamic circulation route, connecting different levels and providing informal spaces for students to engage, explore, and collaborate.

The Centre Building's design triumphs were solidified by an overwhelming public vote during a public exhibition, where LSE staff, students, and visitors expressed their preference for RSHP's vision.

This architectural masterpiece showcases sustainability at its core. Achieving a BREEAM Outstanding rating, the building combines passive design elements with innovative MEP systems, allowing users to personalize their environments on the academic floors. The facade design incorporates stepped double-height voids, creating visual connections and dynamic views. The solar shading design maximizes daylight while offering different appearances when viewed from different angles.

Construction of the Centre Building was a complex endeavor, given the site's limited access and the need to coexist with daily university activities. Off-site manufacturing techniques were employed to enhance efficiency and ensure high build quality. The basement, which houses an auditorium, events space, and plant rooms, was constructed using modular elements, while the superstructure features prefabricated steelwork, precast concrete planks, and unitized cladding. This approach facilitated cost efficiency and accelerated the construction process.

The Centre Building at the London School of Economics is a testament to RSHP's commitment to excellence and innovation in architectural design. Its impact on education, urban connectivity, and sustainability is truly remarkable. I'm honored to have captured the essence of this outstanding project through my photography.

Flying over the majestic O2 Arena, I was in awe of its sheer scale and striking architecture. The vibrant energy of Piccadilly Circus, with its iconic billboards and bustling crowds, came alive from above. The Barbican, with its architectural brilliance and cultural significance, showcased the city's commitment to art and creativity.

Gazing upon the BT Tower, a symbol of communication and technological advancement, I captured its iconic presence against the backdrop of the ever-evolving cityscape. Tottenham Court Road, a bustling hub of activity, radiated its vibrant charm from an aerial perspective. And as I soared above St. James's Park, I witnessed the harmonious blend of nature and history, with the park's lush greenery juxtaposed against the regal Buckingham Palace.

The Victoria Collection for Caddingtons

Last week I was contacted by Caddingtons for the first time, they are selling some beautiful high end properties in Brixton SW2, the The Victoria Collection. They were looking for a selection of outstanding photographs for the property, something that could match and translate to the public the quality of the project. It was a very close call but I managed to get the shots done on the same day. Huw Daveis, the Caddingtons founder, called me in the morning and at 2:30pm I was already there, capturing some beautiful images. The interior design was beautifully done, making every space in the house, extremely inviting and attractive. Well, here is some selected image of the day. Click in the image to see it in full.

Barbican Estates - Inside a Barbican Flat - Brutal from outside, lovely from inside!

Back in 2015, I embarked on a personal project that would forever captivate my lens – exploring the architectural marvels of the Barbican Estates in London. This iconic example of Brutalist design had always caught my eye, and I was determined to capture its essence and share its beauty with the world. For an entire month, I meticulously photographed every nook and cranny, patiently awaiting the perfect interplay of sunlight and shadows. The outcome was beyond my expectations, and the project garnered significant attention. In fact, my images of the Barbican Estates were featured in an article by Bart Bryant-Mole on Arch Daily, where the remarkable architecture came to life through my lens. Fast forward to the present, and I find myself once again immersed in the allure of the Barbican flats. This time, it was an exciting opportunity to photograph one of the flats for a client. As I stepped into this lovely, cozy, and minimalist apartment, I was immediately struck by its charm and elegance. The interiors were tastefully adorned, creating a harmonious blend of style and comfort. With my focus solely on capturing the essence of the interior, I meticulously composed each shot to highlight the unique features and ambiance of this remarkable Barbican flat.

Every detail was meticulously captured, as I sought to bring out the best in every aspect of this exceptional living space. From the carefully curated decor to the thoughtful layout, each photograph tells a story of modern elegance and refined taste. To add an extra touch of artistry, I chose to process the imagery with a film-like aesthetic, lending a timeless and nostalgic quality to the photographs.

London Photo Stock - Coming soon!

After so many years photographing not only architectural projects, but also every neighbourhood where those projects were located, I ended up with thousands of images of the streets of London in my photo library. A very diverse imagery which shows the life-style, the locals, the shops, streets, details that most of us pass by and don’t notice.

Well, this whole archive of images which for a long time was sitting on my hard drives, not seeng by almost anybody, will be soon available to be licensed and used by who ever need them. For now, a little fraction of these immense collection of images can be seen here in my website on the Photo Stock menu. Soon, a dedicated website, the London Stock Photos (www.londonstockphotos.co.uk) will be online, working as a live image stock of London images (probably the biggest one on-line), with weekly updates of new images . Loop Images (www.loopimages.com) will be also hosting the vast majority of my images, helping to spread their availability across different associated image stock libraries across the world. I just can’t wait to show all of them!

My New Venture - London newest Fine Art Printing Studio - the Image Print Centre

I've been always struggle to find a decent printing studio to print my images, although I always faced only two options in London, the famous printing companies in central London, that charges a fortune for a small print and are not owned or directed by a photographer, or, the cheap online ones, where everything is printed in an industrial scale, where no time is spent adjusting the images before printing, everything is printed as they receive. Merano / Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners

Very happy to know that Merano Residences was shortlisted by the RIBA as part of the 83 Best New Buildings in London. Although it was not the best period of the year to photograph, the results came out quite well. I will be back next summer to make the best out of it. Wishing RSH+P luck!
